All driver's license restoration appeals require an individualized strategy involving these steps:

Request an Appeal Hearing for Driver's License Restoration from Secretary of State

Get together all the driver's license restoration documents requested below and call us. We can then schedule the DMV hearing at the correct appeals office.

Get a Current Substance Abuse Evaluation

Make an appointment with our preferred substance abuse assessor. Your substance abuse evaluation must be completed within three months of our filing the petition for a new hearing.

The assessor needs to do a new substance abuse evaluation. We will forward the assessor that report.

The assessor needs to explain what steps, if any, need to be taken to improve your prognosis. After a couple of months, you will need a follow-up report from the assessor if the assessor has indicated you need counseling or recommends AA.

We need to present proof of compliance along with the recommendations in the evaluation.

Provide Additional Documentation of Sobriety

You will need five letters from neighbors, relatives, employers, friends, pastors, police, AA support group, or anyone else who can vouch for your sobriety.

These letters should be dated within 3 months of our petition for a new hearing, and must be notarized.

A qualified attorney at the Aggressive Criminal Defense Law Firm knows what the examiners are looking for, and can help guide you through the questionnaire process.

Demonstrate That You Understand the Principles of AA and the Principles of Recovery

Present documented evidence of your AA attendance through testimony, letter or other written documentation. You also need to acknowledge that you have a drinking problem, and you must also submit to a drug test.

Our attorneys will lead the charge at your hearing, defend your good name, and assist you in getting your driving privileges back.
